The Valley Auto Dismantlers Association had its beginning in 1977 when a dedicated group of of auto dismantlers in the San Fernando Valley felt the time had come for a locally oriented association to more appropriately represent the Valley and its unique requirements.
The San Fernando Valley area, with its population exceeding one million people, and within its boundaries and areas to the north with millions of motor vehicles with a demand for service and used parts and an obvious need for local marketing and identification.
After a series of organizational meetings, with all necessary legal requirements met to qualify as a non profit corporation and the granting of its charter by the State of California Auto Dismantlers Association. VADA held its first formal meeting in June 1977 with over 100 people in attendance.
Since that small beginning a 37 years ago, VADA has made enormous strides within the industry and in local communities with as many as 120 member yards and thirteen associate members and growing. VADA stands as one of the largest and effective chapters of the state’s ten chapters which reach from the Oregon Border to Mexico.
Constantly striving to maintain true professionalism among its members, VADA is active in a myriad of on-going programs within the industry and community and liaison with the numerous legislative and enforcement agencies which regulate the day to day operation of the dismantler.
VADA, and the industry predicts radical changes in the dismantling business for the future and even a stronger need for local and statewide unity and strength.
As an Association, we can keep step with all the regulations, changes and advancements in our field of endeavor. Alone or divided we will surely fall by the wayside!”
